A “Nature Scape” is a space where children can initiate play and engage body and mind while discovering the natural world. With a kid size waterfall and pond to float boats, acorn caps, sand dunes to dig in, stump jumps, logs to climb and natural forts to build, along with trails to explore and life size spider webs to climb.
Our newest edition, The Treehouse was opened May of 2016! This wheelchair-accessible tree house stretches over 7,000 square feet, featuring two satellite platforms, a main deck with a covered house and windows, two walkways, two sets of stairs and a suspension bridge.
Named after a very special 8 year old named Alexandria, she was a “naturalist in training.” Her love for nature and passion to learn about the natural world led her family to start the Spirit of Alexandria Foundation after her passing in 2005. The mission of this foundation is to help children experience nature and all its wonderment. Learn more about this foundation here.
Open daily to the public 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. May to October.
Adult supervision is required in Alexandria’s Nature Scape.
