Youth groups, work camps, family reunions, retreats, school groups, church groups, business meetings, conferences – all these and more can be held at the Howell Nature Center.
Our unique facility provides year-round retreat and meeting space, including overnight accommodations.
The Howell Nature Center offers six lodges with sleeping space. Each lodge offers features, such as fireplaces, kitchens (two lodges do not have a kitchen for public use), and different views of our property. Lodges also have air conditioning, heat, and are carpeted. Indoor restrooms and shower facilities are standard, and linen service is available as well.
We also have two buildings available for day-use. Pineview Lodge and the DTE Raptor Center are located near the entrance of the Nature Center.

Grindley Lodge – The largest of all lodges at the Nature Center, Grindley Lodge has a central common space with four individual bunkrooms and can sleep 56 people. Grindley Lodge houses the Nature Center’s commercial kitchen, which handles all meal preparation for the organization. The deck provides a great view of Pleasant Lake.
Knoll Lodge – Knoll Lodge is a unique lodge at the Howell Conference & Nature Center. Built in 1997, Knoll Lodge is the only lodge at the Nature Center designed to be more hotel-like, with private rooms and bathrooms, rather than the typical bunkroom layout. Knoll Lodge can sleep up to 42 people and has wonderful deck space to enjoy views of Pleasant Lake.
Lakeview Lodge – Lakeview Lodge is the original building on the Howell Nature Center property. While much of Lakeview Lodge remains as it did in 1961, it was expanded in 2002 with the addition of the great room on the lake-side of the building. This addition allows Lakeview to accommodate more guests and provide a more modern meeting space. Lakeview Lodge can sleep 26 people.
Wildwings Lodge – Wildwings Lodge and Woodland Lodge are almost identical buildings. Wildwings has two bunkrooms, sleeping 40 individuals total, anchored by a lovely common room. There is nice deck space outside as well.
Woodland Lodge – Offering a great view of a pond from the large common room, Woodland Lodge is almost an identical building to Wildwings Lodge. Woodland Lodge has two bunkrooms and sleeps 40 people. The deck outside is great for relaxing.
